The attached pic was taken shortly before I dumped the factory fill (did that at 5600 mi/27% on OLM.)
Color is not a good indication of an oil's condition (really need a UOA for that) however I will say the factory fill Dexos blend looked pretty clear compared to other cars I've owned running conventional or blends for 5k+.
$29.99 here for an oil change/tire rotation at my dealer (after some sort of $10 rebate mind you.) I plan on continuing the DIY thing for oil changes, though I'm really not saving any money by the time I pay $20 to have the tires rotated.

My first one was free, but in comparison the local Jiffy Lube that did the oil change on my GF's HHR ran $68 with a coupon for Mobil 1 full synthetic. I am pretty sure the dealership will be at least that.

My Diesel truck has a recommended oil change interval of 7500 miles. Im sure the sonics can go that long they burn a lot cleaner than a diesel.
When I change my Oil I dump the used oil into My trucks fuel tank or the heating oil tank
It gives the winter grade diesel a bit bore punch.

Just discovered this thread.
So the suspension on this car does suck hard. Just as I thought, the dealer will become my best friend since I'll be going back again and again forever for strut mounts, struts, links and arms...:blankface: qualityyyy partssss
Me: both side stabilizer links, both strut mounts. Five visits in less than a year. And right side still isn't 100% cured.

He has another thread complaining about his dealer and his suspension. Now he found a second guy out of what, 200,000+ Sonic's sold that agrees with him so that fueled his fire.
He needs a new dealer and he needs to complain directly to GM customer support about the previous dealer. He has done neither.
It's ok, he will trade the Sonic in on a Toyota and will luck out with that one so then he will bash anything Chevy until he buys a Toyota that sucks, and then he will bash Toyota and buy a Honda etc.

And I wouldn't trade for a Toyota or Honda. They don't offer anything I like! Neither does anyone else (that I could afford).
Trading thoughts are not in my head. I'm keeping my Sonic until the engine falls off. I just need to calm down, breathe and find another dealer. Nothing is perfect, I need to remind myself of that.
My ranting got a little out of hand
I'm hopeful for positive updates soon

You have to find a better dealer. All of the problems, or at least most will go away. The fact they blew you off that day about getting a ride was too much alone.
