Does anyone else absolutely hate the radio interface? I couldn't stand it so I yanked it out and put a Kenwood system in instead. It's a 2012, so MyLink wasn't an option, but I think that one's acceptable.

What I particularly didn't like was that you couldn't tell what preset was set at what button. All the other GM models have indicators on the radio's LCD display that show what the presets are set to. In the Sonic's case, you have to push the FAV button, but even then you can't see them all. You have to scroll a list.

I lived with that for about 18 months trying to find a MyLink system from a 2013 that I could install, but never found one. Just went to aftermarket instead.

One of the benefits of doing that is I now have a 7" screen in the dash so I've integrated video from my iPhone directly into the dash.

With the iPhone 5 and beyond, you need to use AppleTV to get video out (The lightning connector does not support a video interface and never will). AppleTV requires a wifi network to work, so there's a wifi spot in my car the runs the network and the AppleTV takes that video, puts it on HDMI, which I then convert to Component (RCA) and feed into the display in the dash.

Seems a bit complicated, I know, but it's nice having Google Maps right in the dash now.

I have been looking around for a few months now. I am ready to get my ten in.

I have 13 grey RS. Mylinks is great. Wish I could scan radio stations from the wheel though. Mine just goes from one preset to the next. I travel a lot. So when i get out side my radio stations range I have to push the scan on the screen. Its not that safe to be taking my eyes off the road.

Insanika, I looked at your build thread. Tint is in the mail as I post this. Didnt really know what was bothering me about my wheels till i saw yours. The tint brings the whole grey RS together. Thanks
