sporadic Loss of Gas Gauge Readings

I have had this ongoing problem where my gas gauge goes dead...no reading. I have not found any pattern to it...It only happens sporadically. Any Ideas? I do top off my tank. Could that be the reason?

doubt it, I THINK the fuel pump has a part which measures the gas height....but it could be your display and not the tank/tank innards

If you're still under warranty I'd take it back, heck I'd still take it back if it wasn't and point out that's a safety hazard.

By dead you mean there's no display of bars in the instrument cluster?

There's a TSB about fuel gauge issues from people overfilling the fuel tank. Once the fuel pump's nozzle shuts itself off, it's considered full and leave it at that.
