Zzp RDB problem

So I was one of the first to start running the rear disc brake kit from zzp. Finally hit first problem. Kit was installed oct of 13

The supplied brake cable broke.

I have emailed zzp

Will update with response.

That's no good, glad nothing bad came of it. Might be time for some all stainless braided brake lines.

It was just the parking brake cable. Still freaked me out when I pulled the lever though. Lol


The kit came with new stainless lines, but I am starting to wonder how good of quality they are too.

Oh, that's better but not much. Might have to start doing an integrity check on the brake lines once a month just to be safe.

Do you think rubbing a film of grease on the exposed metal would've helped? Does it look like it failed due to corrosion?

I am not sure, I am taking the tire off tonight to get a better view of what exactly happened

Having the same kit on my car, I feel confident in saying that it will eventually happen to mine as well. Its a design/modified part issue. I intend to re engineer it at some point, but have not had the time to dedicate to it yet.

Based on my last experience with them, dont expect a lot of help.

are they sending you a new one? What did they say about what happened...from what I can see it's eaten through...

is that section of wire just from the caliper to an OEM junction point?

I have had no response yet. I just sent them the updated pictures. (Only contact via email so far)

Update: I am in contact with zzp.

They had a respectable contact time.

I am not releasing any other details yet till everything is sorted out.

They will be replacing the part,

I will be sending it back for them to look it.

I am ordering some more go fast parts from them so they are sending it with the parts
