I believe you will get a CEL if you unplug the solenoid, answer should be in this thread somewhere. I think preloader confirmed it.

A useful tip indeed. I was fighting with this over a few attempts but couldn't get the hoses to break their seal. Using a 90degree pick, I was finally able to get it done!
Some observations:
- If you use picks to get the hoses off, be very careful not to puncture the hose itself or just dull the point of the pick. I ended up poking a hole in the green/black hose getting it off. Thankfully it was close to the end.
- The Dorman Help! rubber caps might not last for more than 2-3 years. I had one on a small project sitting forgotten on a shelf in the garage and it had split along the side when I looked at it today. Having a zip-tie or clamp on it might have prevented it. You can also get vacuum caps in vinyl which might last longer by themselves.

Just bought the parts for this mod, now did all of you jack your cars to get at the solenoid and manifold hoses? Seems like it may not be that hard to get them off their fittings but putting the new hoses on does seem like a challenge.

The hose on the seleniod wasn't budging either. My buddy's gonna help me install the engine mounts hopefully Wednesday maybe while it's on the lift I'll seen if there's a better vantage point from the engine bay.

Same thing Stew said. I used a small pick though. Just a little something to break the seal of the hose while you pull on it. And be sure the engine is COLD

The BOV line has come off the intake manifold, again, twice this week. Any one else running into this at all? I'm making sure its very snug when i put it back on. I'm not understanding why it keeps coming off.
Today it caused 2 pending trouble codes, 0171 and 0299. This is the first time its causes the codes to come up. I've searched the codes and theyre obviously because this happened. I wasnt able to fix it right away so i'm not worried about them. Just noting what happened for others.

Did you use 1/8" or 5/32" for the vac line?
I have had this on for about 7k miles no issues yet. Two other options would be to spray some hair spray on the connector on the IM or try a hose clamp.

so I did this to my 2013 sonic lt and it pulls harder rides smoother but now i cant hear my BOV is this bad or normal and how can i fix this issue BTW I have a stock tune. as a matter of fact i am completely stock except for cut air box and a muffler. any input would help.

I just did this mod yesterday after installing the TTR mounts and I can still hear the BOV over the vibrations. The reason this mod works well is because it keeps all of your pressure to be dumped when you're playing with the throttle. If you have an ultra gauge it's easier to see the numbers if you can't hear it happening. Instead of going from 8psi to -10psi now it'll go from 8-psi to 3psi and hold some pressure for the upshift.

I'm sorry can you possibly dumb it down way more for me? im new to the turbo world so you definietly lost me in why i cant hear the BOV anymore.
