It's been a fun time here and I've enjoyed my Sonic a lot. The time has come to let her go though. I took her into a ford dealer today to trade it in for a 2014 Focus ST. If all goes as planned, papers will be signed Monday and I'll officially own a Focus. They gave me $11,000 trade in on my Sonic which was very surprising! I'll still be around the forum and I'll update with pics. The focus is in Salt Lake so it'll have to be shipped here. The Sonic was a great little ride. The reason for the trade is because for one, the ST is badass, and two, I was tired of dealing with tranny issues on the Sonic. I know this may be messed up but I am leaving the E85 tune on the vehicle when I trade it in I decided. I don't have enough time to be dilly dallying with tunes. On that note I'd like to say thanks for a great forum and all the information that it provides. I'll always be a Sonic owner at heart.

Good luck with the Focus .. you chose the right model; the ST, not because of the performance, but because , I assume, your getting the manual transmission. Ford's DCT automatic transmissions have a lot of issues...wonder if they solved those by now.

Nice. When I got my RS the Focus ST was def. on the list. But I could only afford the base ST1 and I wanted goodies Plus the extra 4 or so MPG is handy. But damn is that a fun car and it looks properly bad ass. Good luck with it! Looking forward to some pics!

Sorry at work, a quick question to anyone. I'm switching back to normal pump gas tune from E85 today when my tank is empty. Do you think I'll run into any problems switching back or will it be fine?

You WILL have to flash back to your non-e85 tune, but that is stating the obvious.

I'll not go into a rant about Focus ST bandwagoning. If you keep trading in, you'll never not have car debt. At least you stayed American. You'll have to dump a little money into it before it is fast as your Sonic became, but enjoy..... I guess.

Unfortunately yes I am.. It all happened too fast for me to even try to take any parts off. I didn't plan to trade it in. I woke up one day and decided I felt like getting an ST, so I went down to the dealer to see what I could do. I also wanted a lot more HP and realized getting the Focus is probably a more reliable and realistic way of attaining that. I rode in my friends ST and it felt great! Plus they look pretty ***y.

hey to each their own man lol i also love the focus st's, a lot faster than i expected from the factory, but after seeing someone mod a brand new one, take my advice and try not to mod it until you hit about 8000 miles in it so the motor has plenty of time to break in properly. Enjoy!

ford will have no problem screwing you out of your warranty. buddy of mine had to pay 100% out of pocket to replace his motor because he had a cobb intake and turbo back exhaust and tune.

Het took mods off when he took the car in lol put it back to bone stock, but my point in saying that wasn't the fact that he lost his warranty, that's a given when you mod your car, but the point was that the motors carp out real easily

same here. My wife was driving my trailblazer ss but she didnt like how high it sat (6" lift and all-terrains) so we traded it in for my sonic and got her a chrysler 300
