I haven't installed a Sonic clutch, but Preloader did a fairly in depth walk-through, and I wouldn't mind giving you a hand.

Since I have the budget tune, would it mess anything up porting the intake? I want to upgrade to the full tune eventually.

I know a sonic with the stock tune and it's ported. He hasn't mentioned any issues

You can port the manifold with the stock tune or a tune with the ported manifold as a specified modification.

I'm really thinking about upgrading to full tune and data logging the porting after I get it done saturday

The budget tune is canned meaning one size fits all. so doesn't really matter what mods you make the tune will be the same just enhanced with more mods. The research I've done throughout the forums points towards no need for a full tune until you add an inter cooler or 42 lb injectors, or atmospheric BOV. Mods such as bypass, ported mani, CAI, and to my knowledge exhaust are all accepted under the budget tune.

They are all accepted, but if you plan to upgrade further in the future, you should really just get the full tune because of the datalog support. If there is ever a problem with your tune, you can get it adjusted free of charge.

Every time I datalog, they say it's fine and no change is necessary. I've got lots of mods. The only change that was required was for the injectors, other than that I think I'm running the canned tune

The budget tune only makes about 80 to 90 percent of the power that the full tune makes.

I'd like two see someone dyno before then budget then full tune on a stock car to see it non bias lol. I've done quite a bit and only have my original full tune all data logs are okay no change needed. Ive talked . to vince and he says I have two prior years of adjustments they made to the tune I have but if thst is the case why bother to list mods if when I add something new like a front mount or port the manifold no changes are needed?

I do realize the computer handles some changes just seems like something somewhere could be optimized more.

I dunno. Lol. Maybe I'm just over hopeful.
