Whats up SOF! Just got a 2014 Sonic RS

Hey fellow members! I just aquired a brand new 2014 chevy sonic RS! I love this car. I came from owning mulitple Evos and an s2000 and to honestly tell you the truth except for the power concern this car is just as much fun to drive and is super fuel efficient which for amazing to me. I plan on getting this thing to the road course at somepoint. :banana:

Tuning the 1.4 really brings it to life.

I run a lot of autox and I venture onto the road course a couple times a year.

welcome to the family! I've always been a chevy guy, but I came to my '14 RS about the same as you lol traded in my 478 rwhp trailblazer ss and sold my 300 hp cobalt ss to get it for me, and my wife a new car as well. Obvious is obvious, yeah the straight line speed/power is lacking, but the car is so much fun in the turns and comfortable to drive its ridiculous. looking forward to some auto-x/road course videos!

Here's a link to a free mod! MPFab is the best!! There's no temp gauge but the are digital and analog gauges available.

There is also porting the intake manifold. And there are a ton of cheap OR high horse power mods. Not many where you get both.

unfortunately thats not an option. RS doesn't have a header persay, but exhaust manifold, and it cant simply be replaced due to the factory turbo/exhaust manifold being cast as one piece

Welcome to the forum! Its not the cheapest thing, but the first thing you should do is get a tune. Most bang for your buck. Trifecta tune = Less than $10 per horsepower. As far as free mods. I took out the spare tire and jack. 30Lbs weight reduction.

I ended up with a 2014 LTZ in the Pearl White Tricoat. I just liked the wheels more on the LTZ vs. the RS. Best wishes on your purchase.
