I was bought this bov. I think it is made in china not usa,,,,,,,
In the bov package, there are two springs in.
when I installed weak one, it is always up(open) --> not work and idle vaccume is more strong than bov spring.
and strong one installed, that is not work.
Did you block off the factory BPV? Before installing this one?
NO, not block off the factory BPV,
Should I block off that?
Yes if you don't the factory one is still venting.
If you havent removed the factory BPV and blocked it off, this one wont work. You have 2 ways to relieve boost, one of them will end of take priority and I'm 95% sure it's the factory one. Once you remove and block it, then the new BOV will take over.
Also, you need to make sure you get a tune that will compensate for the loss in airflow to atmosphere or your car will run poorly.
Why do you think it was made in China? Where did you purchase it from?
With the style BOV that you have the spring has to be matched to how the engine is running. If the spring is wrong it wont function correctly. As has already been mentioned, you will need a tune to permit your engine to run properly if you are venting metered air to atmosphere.
You may not have a genuine TiAL product then. There are a lot of knock off TiAL products out there. Some even have all the correct markings and packaging.
Do you know the inHG reading in the manifold for your engine when the throttle slams shut and what it is at idle and part throttle? If you do not, you cant even start trying to size the spring. You would just be guessing and hoping for the best.
The 0.4 will be open at 11.8 inHG or greater and the 1.2 will open at 35.4 inHG. I cant say I have ever come across a car that pulls 35.4 inHG even at max RPM throttle closing and engine braking. My best guess is that you need something in the 0.5-0.7 range, but that is purely a guess.
What is the model of the BOV you purchased? How much did it cost?
