So I was going up this mountain range the other day trying to see what this 1.4T can squeeze out. About half way up the boost cut down to about 4psi. Prior to that it was at about 16 or so. So the next half mile I had to limp up with only a quarter of the boost.
Once up top I checked the Ultraguage and it said I had a pending code P0299. No check light was given.
Having done a brief check on the intranet some others have said they got this same condition when they had a rapid increase in elevation.
Anyway soon after it seemed to return to normal boost levels(budget tuned).
Do any of you sonic scientists know if the budget tune cuts down the boost if it has been under "high" boost conditions for a specific amount of time?
On another note...coming back down that same mountain, I had to do a hard brake right at the bottom. I was getting bad front brake shudder. Usually I dont get this at all. I suspect that maybe I didnt break in the brakes properly and may have some run out. Since then, driving around town brakes seem to be normal no shudder.
I wonder if its worth looking at new rotors and pads. If so, any recommendations on standard vs slotted/drilled rotors and pads?
