Hey guys I mixed 3 gallons of 101 unleaded in with the remainder of tank being all 92 and it drives so much better! The throttle is crisper, the engine effortlessly pulls through the power band without glitches or small flat spots it really seemed to be a much more refined feel to the engine. Has anyone else tried this and felt the same thing? There's a shell station in Bothell, WA that has 101 and 110 unleaded.It was just over $10/gal but man it sure is more fun to drive.

A local gas station has 93 octane 100% gasoline (no ethanol). My 1.4 runs better, overall, and I believe is getting better mileage than on regular (87 octane), or 91 octane premium with ethanol. Ethanol has a lower energy density than gasoline, and ethanol is also corrosive. Worries me that we'll all soon be getting an increase to 15% ethanol.

I started running ethanol free gas from a 76 by my moms. Ethanol-free gas stations in the U.S. and Canada helps us find the ethanol free ones, I see 1-2 mpg increase as well as more and smoother power. Its worth planning the fillup's for when you're near an Ethanol free station and run their gas... you WILL be able to tell a difference. And its better for your engine.
