Can the roof trim come off easily?

I can't search from my tablet so I hope this question hasn't been asked...

Are the black trim strips on the roof removable? I'd like to take them off to do a vinyl wrap. And then replace them after. Is it possible?

Nobody? I watched some youtube videos and it looks like most cars are just cliped in. Anyone know for sure if ours are clipped in or screwed in somewhere?

gently pull up from the front, right by the windshield with your fingers., they're held in by a U shaped sort of clip...so pull gently up...moving towards the back..

I'd not put the vinyl all the way in that groove, since the U shaped clips are metal and spot welded into the roof, but yes, you'll want to remove the strips so the vinyl can lay under it...

When I picked up my 'new' used 2017 on the way home I noticed something whipping around above me on the road shadow, I pulled over and found the clip had came loose allowing the trim to flap in the breeze. It had been that way for awhile since the channel was full of dirt, I removed the trim and cleaned the channel then drove home. I did not see any welding on the clip, it appeared to have been glued so I used some super glue, reassembled everything and have had no issues since.

Mine was missing on passenger side, when I bought it (one year old). It is very common for the glue under the clip to detach from the channel surface. Luckily I got a new rubber strip and clip for cheap either from Ebay or Amazon (can't remember ) and then I sealed both driver's and passenger side down with weatherstrip cement. Both sides are on there solid now, lol.
If you are removing yours, and no longer want them, put them for sale, they will go quick, since it is common to lose them while driving on the highway, when the glue bond weakens.
