WALKINSHAW Irmisher Springs are AMAZING

Just installed the new springs today, had to cut the bump stops in half but the springs are fantastic, that perfect blend of increased performance while still maintaining a tolerable ride.

Performance springs are definitely one of the best things you can do for these cars, all but cuts out nose dive under breaking as well as lift on acceleration, holds the car much flatter through the corners.

MAAAAD New Shifter

How does it feel in your hand? Looks a lot different than the OEM shift knob for sure. I installed a Momo shift knob on my last car and really liked it but I'll probably stick with the factory shift knob in my Sonic, it's pretty good.

I personally love it, it shift the hand position from on the top grip to a solid grip around the shifter, feels like a more accurate position to me, that and not being a massive bulky shift knob is a massive bonus. one thing i did notice though with installing the shifter is that the positing vertically needs to be spot on due to that reverse toggle.

Offset Plate

A quick and easy looks awesome, literally takes a few seconds and 1 drill bit haha, plus on a more functional note it allows for more direct flow into the bottom grille area.

UPDATE:

new custom 2.25" exhaust will be made and installed Wednesday !!!!!

New Catback System

Fresh of the lift, a new 2.25" high flow catback system, with sports muffler and 2.25" chrome dump tip.

as the 1.8l high performance exhausts are 2.25" for the most part (zzp) i followed suit, i chose not to go with a resonator to avoid having the car sound like a mosquito on steroids, i will post a video of the exhaust sound soon, but without a doubt is a great way to open up the flow of your car without having to re-tune the engine, the next step after this is to have custom headers fabricated along with a custom mid pipe but thats at a later date.

i personally think a 2.25" will be overkill, the 2.25" has a nice deep tone, do you have a 1.8l N/A or the 1.4Lt ?

Ahhhh ok so yes a 1.4Lt i hear that as well, as the turbo takes out a lot of the crackle i hear you wont need a muffler and its ok to go with a resonator that's just from what i have come across when trying to find info for my fab, i would recommend if you are going to fab, finding a trustworthy exhaust workshop and telling them what you want from it, work closely with them and you wont be disappointed.

if you do want a certain brand incorporated into your fab such as Borla etc be sure to tell the fabricator during the planning process.


But that is my opinion

Intake v2

Had to refine the intake from the original, it looked scrappy and didn't look as part of the car as i wanted.

Used an OEM fog lamp insert for the bumper, then as the intake tubing would not fit (and my budget being very tight) i had to find a solution, this came in the form of a 3.5" exhaust tip

mounted perfectly into the fog lamp insert and looks flush, so much so it could almost pass as an OEM option.
