Picked up a new toy today
'85, '86 or '87?
86 k1500 350 fuel injected 4 speed
TBI but still.
86 k1500 350 fuel injected 4 speed
TBI but still.
Wiki says it's 165HP and 275 TQ.
That shouldn't exist unless they swapped in a later 350. TBI started in '87 and that year saw the return of the 350 to 1/2-ton trucks.
That's for the ol' 4BBL in light 3/4-ton trucks. TBI 350s were 210HP/300LB-FT.
I know the door tag says 86, it's to faded to read a month.
Tail gate has a fuel injected badge on it, so it may be a early 87.
Can you get to the SPID in the glove box? If so, get a pic. It's probably an early '87 like you said.
It's an '87 built in Janesville, Wisconsin. It does, indeed, have the 210HP L05 TBI 350 with a 3.42 open diff. No A/C though. Yikes!![]()
No a/c does not bother me. Windows down to hear to duals [emoji51].
I know the truck will run but it's not the factory motor, had a create motor put in back in the 90's. Same engine just newer.
First off,
You're a sick bastard for not caring about A/C. I lasted until June before I rebuilt the A/C in my truck. I couldn't even last one summer.
My truck had a wye pipe connecting the manifolds that went into a single 3" that fed a pellet cat and then a muffler which split into dual 1 1/4".
I replaced the cat with a highflow honeycomb type and did 3" into a flowmaster 40 into dual 1 1/4" like stock. I left it that way until i got tired of hearing it and then did a flowmaster 70 with a single 3" exit.
