Radio staying on...!!!

Ok, can't seem to find this on here. When I park the car and have had my radio on, it would normally shut off when I opened the door. Well I just got home and even after door was opened with key out , and even after arming it, it was still on. When I opened the door to manually shut it off, that's when it finally shut off. I don't want to forget and drain the battery....anyone else have this happen?

No, sorry. First I've heard of it.

Maybe turn the radio on and off a few times while the car is on to try to reset it, but ultimately you may have to go to the dealer.

You can turn the radio on with out the key on. Did you turn it on without knowing it? If you push the button it will stay on for 10 min then shut off.First car iv seen this in and i like it.

Hmmm....just did what I normally do. But I'll be sure to double check before I go to work...

Mine stayed on too, chevy dealer told me it's common on Sonics and to turn it off manually. Then lost display. They replaced it, now my usb Ipod doesn't work.
and Onstar charged me $15.00 to switch subscriptions.

mine has stayed on quite a few times and everytime i open my door to turn it off it shuts off. it does make me wonder why it does that and i am worried that it will drain my battery as well if i dont catch it

Is it maybe the door switch that's sticking? I mean do your interior lights come on like normal with the door open when this happens? If so, then guess it's not a switch, but probably the radio or a relay.

The MyLink radio in my LTZ will stay on if I enter/exit the vehicle thru the passenger door. It will turn off properly if I enter/exit thru driver's door.

Please see pg. 9-19 under Driving and Operating, RAP The Retained Accessory
Power (RAP) Sonic vehicle accessories may be used for up to 10 minutes after the
engine is turned off:
. Audio System
. Power Windows
. Sunroof
The power windows and sunroof will continue to work for up to 10 minutes or until any door is opened. The radio will work when the key is in ON/RUN or ACC/ACCESSORY. Once the key is turned from ON/RUN to LOCK/OFF,
the radio will continue to work for 10 minutes, or until the driver door is
opened or the key is removed from the ignition.

I think their point is, they turned off the car, removed the key, and opened the drivers door and the radio did not shut off. This has happened in my car also with the MYLINK, however it will shut off after the 10 minutes as stated. When your used to the radio turning off when you open the driver's door and then all the sudden it doesn't, it is noticeable.

Just checked. Radio still comes on. Car hasn't been run for 3 and a half hours. I DID NOT PUT THE KEY IN THE IGNITION. Door was open when I checked.
