Greetings!
My name is Colin and I (officially) have a 2012 Sonic 5 Automatic. It's my son's car but the paperwork is in my name and I haggled with the dealer to buy the car new, which I why I say 'officially'.
I'm considering buying a friend's 2012 Sonic 5 LTZ Turbo Manual, which is why I'm here now.
I'm a motorcycle guy by trade, having worked in the industry for over 20 years (Imports) and have been racing for the past three years. My race bike is a turbocharged Suzuki Hayabusa and so far I've had it up to 207.7 in the mile and 213.6 mph in the 1.5 mile run. The bike had some issues that weekend (not reaching peak boost and also had a boost leak) so I know there's more in it. I'm going to be installing forged connecting rods and changing the cams (and their timing) over the next few months, then we'll turn the boost up until I run out of fuel. It's currently tuned for about 300 horsepower and I'm hoping to see 350 or more after the next build.
As for the potential purchase of the Sonic Turbo, I plan to leave that one stock. I drive about 150 miles round trip to get to work and home again, and I need the fuel economy.
All the best.
