So I was searching for Kspeed springs on E-bay when I came across these pictures:
Naturally, my eyes were drawn to the rims because something didn't seem quite right. And then I realized I was looking at a Sonic with only four lug nuts.
Well that seemed strange. It would be pretty hard to make an adapter from a five-lug setup to a four-lug. And it would hardly be worth the hassle. Unless...
Is your jaw on the floor yet?
What if I told you that these cars, sold as the Chevy Aveo (T300) had a bolt pattern of 4x100. What if I told you that bolt pattern is shared with the Acura Integra, the BMW 3-series, the Ford Escort, and too many Honda and Toyota cars to list here.
Here's the list, in case you are curious:
4x100 - Bolt pattern - Wheel-Size.com
Here's the website I found the cars listed on:
the all new chevrolet aveo/sonic | Kaskus - The Largest Indonesian Community
I'm still trying to nail down the actual model year of these cars. I have seen 2012 and 2014 mentioned but nothing too solid.
But hey, guess what that means? There are 4x100 PCD OEM rotors out there for our cars. That means we could mount Steelies, Volks, Work, and vintage JDM rims on our hot-hatches without needing an adapter plate, re-drills, or custom drilled wheels. Someone needs to figure out how to source these rotors to replace our 5x105 setup. Please?
