mpg tune?

Not sure if this belongs in this thread. But is there an mpg tune for the sonic rs?

I see tunes for more power. What about tune for less power and more mpg?

Trifecta has the select-a-tune. The cruise control button is used to make the car run in standard/econo mode. With it off you get the power upgrade that most people buy it for.

Drive easier, short shift, stay out of boost, keep air pressure on the high side of specification. The car is already tuned more or less for max mpg.

You can ask BNR to tune it for mileage I'm pretty sure. I was surprised how much gas mileage I get from BNR...I don't know how he did it... I would think if he keeps the boost levels down around stock levels he can get the mileage up..

thats the only reason why im buying the bnr tune hopfully soon im getting 24 mpg in my rs and i unbolted the exhaust after the 2nd cat gutted that and now getting 26 mpg big upgrade to me lol

The diablosport tuner has 3 canned tunes available. Diablo (93 octane), 91 octane and MPG tune (87 octane). I've used the 91 and the mpg tune personally. There might be a slight gain in MPG, but I did it more so I could have a tune and not have to buy premium fuel. I drive 120 miles a day...

Sorry to drag up an old thread, but there's no reason why one tune couldn't deliver the best of both worlds.
More power when you're heavy on the throttle, and better economy at lighter throttle.
My "wait4me" mail order PCM tune delivered noticable gains in both performance and economy on my 2000 Sonoma truck.

It's all about how the driver demand and desired torque tables are setup, the E78 leaves a lot of flexibility (almost too much) to the tuner.

Jesse at Wait4Me has been tuning for a while, I worked with him years testing a few things for I6 TrailBlazer stuff.

Yeah, I've had one of Jesse Bubb's tunes in my Sonoma for over 10 years.
Works great. I gained over a quarter second in the 1/8th mi., and got better fuel economy as well.
Still to this day, I still consider it the best money I ever spent on that truck...
