Thanks for the help. I asked the guy at TireRack too.
So the conclusion is, 17 x 7.5 wheels with 225/45/17 tires on them. The wheels have a 38mm offset.
I plan to get summer tires for maximum traction. I hope this really helps acceleration and stopping compared to the stock tires on the RS.
Personally, I would go with 235/45/17's. Stock tires are 25.1" tall - the 225/45's are 24.9 and the 235/45's are 25.3. All real close.
The 235/45's will put a lot more rubber on the road though.
There are others on the board running 235/45's without any clearance problems.
I have 16's on my car and run 225/50/16's in summer and then run winter tires in the stock 205/55/16 size.
