How much does it cost for a scratch like this to repaire

Hello, I just noticed that there is a scratch close to my right front wheel. I don't know when I got this. It might be there for a while and it was covered by dust. Today, I washed my car and found it. I was wondering how much this will cost to fix it?

1> I plan to sell my car soon. Let's say if I fix it. I will sell it at $8000. If I don't fix it, it will be $7500. The repair fee is only 200. I will fix it, because worth it. Will this affect my car selling price a lot?

2> I have full insurance. I am not sure if I should let insurance company know and use my insurance to fix it. Will this affect my future insurance price? You know this is not a collision. If I want to let the insurance company know, what I should say? I don't know when this happened? What should I report? Just tell them my car has a scratch? I want to fix it? I need to pay my deductable, right?

A body shop would want to repaint the whole bumper. That will surely be over $500. A quality detailer could potentially touch up the area and blend his work to make it less noticeable, not sure what the price would be on that.

That scratch isn't going to affect selling price. Whoever told you that is full of it. Just sell the car for the best price you can get.

If you had the means and expertise to paint it yourself and make it look professional it may be worth it.

Whatever you do, dont have insurance pay for this. Youll be filing a claim on a car that you wont have anymore. That could be seen as a mark against your future insurance, which could translate to higher premium.

Call your local dealer and get the number for who does their lot touch up. Should be able to get that paint matched for $100 tops and no one will be the wiser

It's not a store. There are mobile services that go to auto dealers and do paint touch up on site. For example, this is the company my dealership uses http://www.integrityauto.com

Saves us time and money not having to transport to a body shop. They show up with a truck to do "mobile auto paint touch up"

No but a full bumper respray usually runs us $100-150 so I'm sure not too bad

Is it really necessary to do the full bumper spray? Is it possible to just spray the scratched area?

....that was just an example.... Your question is better suited for someone that actually does the work

If you're around Houston I can paint match and prep/spray/finish for 100$.

If not, try different body shops around town. It doesn't need a full respray.
