My Dad bought a Camaro RS, decided to put on some chrome Kragars, guess who gets the take offs?!

Funny, I've always thought these would look bitchin on my Sonic, guess we'll see if they fit!

20x8 et35, 20x9 et40.. i think ill run 225/45 front and 255/40 rear to keep the overall diameter down. Adapters on order

Hey all, I'm sure this has already been covered but what is the widest/lowest profile tire I can fit on my sonic while keeping the stock rims? I have an LT hatch with the FITS package, so I have the 16" wheels. Factory tires are 205 55 16. Thanks in advance.

I'm no expert on wheel fitment but unless you are planning on lifting your Sonic, if you install 225/45/20s on the front and 255/40/20s on the rear, you are going to have some, if not a lot of rub (if they even fit at all).
I think that you would be better off installing 225/30/20s on the front and 235/30/20s on the rear. But don't take my word for it, Google what size tires you should get if you're installing 20" wheels on your Sonic or better yet, check with your local tire shop.

I've done all the calculations since this post, and yes you are correct 30 series will fit better.... but this project is on hold due to budget constraints

I'm sorry to hear that. There's a lot of things that I too want to do to my Sonic but have not had the chance because of budget constraints as well.
I hope that your finances get better for you. When you get around to installing the 20" on your Sonic, post some pics. I can't wait to see how those wheels will look on your Sonic.

I was recently on this to see about fitment of 225/45R17's on my stock 2012 LT. So I did it and they fit just right. Might want to add a thin wheel spacer just for a little bit flusher look to the fenders.

Correct. I am keeping the factory wheel, I am just looking for better/more aggressive rubber.

I've been thinking about 215/45/16, I'm just not sure if the reduction in sidewall height will make the fender well gap look ridiculous, or if 215 rubber is too bubbly for the stock rim.

I second this. Put them on my stock 16's and the car handled so much better and looked great. Let me see if I have any pics of it for you.

Yeah you get every bit of 255 with this tire. Im sure you know some tires are said to be 255 but the contact surface might only be 245. Thank you for the compliment.
