Okay so I can find a decent amount of info on the 1.4l tensioner, and those are the kind I am used to dealing with. Haven't seen one that looks like the one in the 1.8l, and on csmans they only show the 1.4l tensioner in the guides.
I have a tensioner that looks like this :
My question is do I need to turn the bolt in the center of the belt pulley or the 12-point? It also looks like I need to turn it counter-clockwise in order to relieve tension, so i'm leaning toward turning the 12-point casted part. Anyone else done this and know what size wrench and can clarify which one I should turn?
This is what my tensioner looks like from below with the belt still on the vehicle, not a lot of clearance here.
And from above:
Im gonna be doing my compressor but want to make sure I have the proper tools before I pull the engine mount off as I definitely dont have a torx socket if I need to undo that bolt or turn it in any way, though I believe this is just the mounting bolt from looking at the part on amazon and such.
Thanks,
Dalm.
