what did you do to your Sonic today?

Put the ZZP rear drum to disc conversion on my 2018 premier....it fit perfectly!!! Directly bolted on.

The brakes definitely grab way harder than the drums, but pedal feel is the same. I really expected the pedal to feel harder.

The calipers are single piston but they turned out to be pretty big. The pads are almost the size of my fronts. The drilled and spotted rotors are super nice too.

This was yesterday, but is still an ongoing project:

Took off the door panel to finally take off the peeling black paint on the door handle.

Discovered my driver side speaker was torn; new ones are already on order

Taped up my hood in preparation for cutting louvered vents in it, not sure if that's the final product though. I'm looking to achieve lower under hood temps and have it look good.

It's not too hard. Just make sure you get good material (mine is cheap so I'll have to redo it) get a sharp blade, and don't stretch it too much and you should be good

After roughly 18 working hours to cut, bend, paint, and mount it, I finally have my own custom diffuser. Doesn't look too bad considering I have very minimal engineering knowledge. Is it functional? Preferably yes but probably not.

In a simple definition, it does the same thing that an airplane wing does but upside down. If done properly it creates down force with as little drag as possible, unlike a wing which makes down force through making drag. It works best with a full undertray to keep the air as smooth as possible

Hey thanks! I work hard to make my car as clean and well done as I can.
It’s rustoleum engine enamal primer, rustoleum caliper paint base coat, and a rustoleum high-heat clear. About $40 said and done.Two cans of each to do all 4 calipers.
I put the car on jacks and just taped/masked everything off. Left the calipers on the car actually, just masked off the bleeder and etc..

Ha! Respect for the DIY. I probably took 5 trips to Home Depot looking at sheet metal, but never took on the project. Looks super good!

Nice! That's a lot more affordable and easily done than I thought. I got a Black RS that some red calipers would look good on. I'll be sure to follow your lead when I get around to it. Thanks!

Smarjason that is super clean.

I plan on doing a corvette brake swap so I will paint them while unmounted. Am going with a very similar blue to go with the krypton green sonic.
