Slips in drive but not manual

2016 sonic 1.4 turbo, when you put it in drive and go to pull off it slips out of gear, but if you put it in manual it pulls off with no problem, and once your moving over 8 mph you can shift to drive and all works fine. Has anyone had this problem, and what is the fix?

Doesn't make any sense, that would slip in first while in drive, but in M1 it pulls off fine...
Any ideas!

Just curious since it's only a 2016 isn't it under warranty? I'd hit up a dealer regardless.
