Rust in Trunk of 2017 Sonic LT RS

I noticed some rust developing in my car.... wondering how I'm gonna fix this.....

Rust --- really - LOL

Encapsulate ( paint ) over it with POR-15 then color match with a rattle can --

P/S -- pry open the overlapping seam a wee-bit and push in some POR --

2017?! Take it in for warranty....pretty sure that's well within the rust warranty. That's obviously a flaw from factory.
I'm gonna check mine now....crazy.

Just curious,did you use the spare tire at one time?.If it was put away wet that could be the cause.Good luck with GM,I think the corrosion warranty only covers rust that is perforated right through the metal.

Yes I think I read that it is warranted against rust perforations only. But might be worth a question to a dealer. FYI my 2015 doesn’t have rust in spare tire area
(I put on my snow tires last week). Some rust on rear brake drums, that’s about it.

Yes check yours out...... i wish I had got my car sent to KROWN right when I bought it....

Instead started rust proofing it this march.

I never used the spare tire... just the emergency jack..... I noticed though the area underneath the spare tire was wet......

Yeah thanks... I'm doubtful too.. but ill try going to the dealer and or corporate and see what they say...
