ZZP Down/Mid-Pipe

From what I can tell, the ZZP exhaust basically eliminates the first catalytic converter and instead relies on only the second catalytic converter. Can anyone confirm if this is the case? If so, is there any effect on emissions or CEL? Thanks

It throws a CEL unless you get it tuned, and it will pass most state emissions unless they use a sniffer

Speaking as an owner in IL, I had no problems with emissions but my CEL came on after first running it. Had to get a data file logged and sent to Trifecta to get it tuned and get that taken care of, but it was smooth sailing after that

I’ve got the down pipe, no mid pipe yet. I also cut my second cat out and made my own 2.5” exhaust to a Magnaflow resonator/muffler. Threw a 0420 code for like a month or two and then the other night i ran to the store and I realized on my way home the light was out haha and hasn’t come back on since. Not too sure why or how but I’m just glad I don’t have to keep seeing it/clearing it on my UG anymore! Btw I’m also not tuned yet..

If you run an o2 spacer you should not get a CEL, and you will pass the o2 readiness test for states that require that. I've been running that way 2 or 3 years with no issues.

If you have Trifecta Elite, Than all you need to do is access your Trifecta account and delete the code for the missing first cat. I installed the down pipe with the deleted code with no issues on performance. No need to contact them for a re-tune.

Thanks for the info, everyone! I think I'm just gonna go with the mid-pipe and a second cat delete. That way the controlled portion of the emissions system is still intact.
