Turbo manifold found for 1.8 sonic and Cruze!!! Hoping for some active 1.8 owners out there to chat share projects and brainstorm

So the European Cruze made by Holden started a 1.6 turbo gas Ecotec. According to my research the part numbers for the gaskets are the same and the bolts and manifold does directly bolt to the 1.8. Feel free to check into it if I’m wrong please correct me this is just a thread to give some of us 1.8 lovers some hope but I’ve seen several on YouTube in Europe Australia and such with the 1.6 intake and exhaust/ turbo manifold on their 1.8 also pistons fit as well as injectors. Like I said a little bit of hope. Also this is my projects I’ve shared them on here but I was hoping to still have some 1.8 guys still active to brainstorm with. Feel free to drop pics of projects I love seeing others stuff

Another good mod that is well worth the money is the Godspeed lowering springs I’ve attached pics side by side with stock suspension. U can tell huge difference I want to get the rear stabilizer frame zzp

In the lat few years of Chevrolet Sonic production which were 2017, 2019 and 2020. . . the Sonic came with an RS appearance package on the LT and standard engine was 1.8L or could get the 1.4L turbo upgrade or buy the Premium trim level to get the 1.4L.
In previous Sonic model years, the "RS" package was appearance and 1.4L engine only.

Yea I wasn’t aware of that with the newer models mainly cause they’re just different looking like an volt or something kinda. But anyways to each is own. We had the funky yellowish green color one at the lot it was RS but I just assumed it had 1.4 being an RS. But I’m not just being mean and saying you are negative but you are you claim want a 1.8 turbo build well there is gonna be mistakes and things to mess up along the way especially someone doing something nobody else has at least that’s been shared here or much anywhere else but it has been done and for sure can be done u just don’t want to risk it or put in the time research blood swans tears and still wanna talk ****. My thing is if u can’t be supportive to the cause why down it and maybe even discourage others? U act like this is the only thing to ever not have a huge market of performance parts available that’s been made into turbo or whatever build they wanted and forced induction. I mean we aren’t engineers but I think a lot of the guys still out or in here attempting to post and share and help one another would def agree that your negativity is not wanted nor enjoyed also do the research all parts I’ve listed are available for purchase and do work. So just like any other n/a that was never meant to be boosted and doesn’t have a huge aftermarket base some customization and fab work may be needed but if you’d have watched his videos as you claim or done the research that you claim you’d know especially Matt’s videos that there is actually quite a bit available for the 1.8. Not nust that but the Holden Cruze 1.6 gas turbo is the same block. Forged internals same pistons rods so on also the 1.6 Holden Cruze was produced and sold to who knows how many and they drive them I would assume the same way that they’re drove here. So idk u should be more positive as well as more proactive or if you just know it’s impossible why even make the choice to get a 1.8? RS no less like lemme look like I’m turbo but not be but then bitch out or try to discredit anyone who post on a forum about sonic. A free open one to anyone and always no can’t be or nah that’s a lie and me knowing damn well better. Like get real man. U r just a troll and think your 4 years of being negative on others post gives u some merit. All u got is a non turbo car that could’ve been turbo but u didn’t want that apparently u just wanted to complain and go on about how it isn’t possible lol even with video proof kits for sale and a 1.6 Holden with the same block head intake and exhaust manifold mounts to as well as piston size everything but nah it’s impossible. I really don't care about any 1.8L turbo anymore. I've seen too much money and trouble others have gone to with little to no reliable results.
See. . . that is my point. do not really care if anyone else gets one running and it's "fun" for them.

End of subject for me. Why can't you just accept another view that some of us want a reliable vehicle and hoped a turbo 1.8L reliable kit would come along.
The internals may or may not be stout enough. There are other troubles as evidenced even in the videos.

So. .. . see . . what you call "negative" is just another view point based on what I have seen of no . . reliable. . . . 1.8L turbo that the average owner could depend on and would not cost a lot of $$$$ and time.

That's it . .. I do not care if anyone has a "build" for a 1.8L turbo since none are reliable in my view point and yes, cost too much in time, effort and money. To me. .. . it's all been more hype than practical results.
If you want to play with it as a hobby. . .. go for it. It's not what most people are interested in.

Again .. . do not care anymore especially after all this dialog. Not interested. No reliable results for a 1.8L turbo that doesn't require a lot of time , mistakes, $$$$ and frustration of break downs and set backs.

Just another couple photos and I’ll leave ya alone. 1.6 and 1.8 is same same different but same same. Low boost ok big boost not. Even if the actual piston isn’t forged the rods and crank I’m thinking are the compression is diff but all parts are interchangeable. So why not put 1.6 stuff in 1.8 then ya got reliable. They seem to have been doing well over the pond

Then why did you originally make it a a point to go to every single one of my post and try to not only tear me down but everyone else trying and making the forums and threads trash. Also look up the fucking part numbers on intake manifold gasket it just moves the throttle body to driver side does for sure bolt up. Second exhaust manifold/ turbo manifold bolts straight to 1.8 block do you want the part numbers? They have the same exact gasket part number and on gm direct and any other parts site it states clearly 1.6 and 1.8 i4 Ecotec guess what the Holden Cruze has a turbo i4 1.6 dohc same gen and same dozen cubic inch and blocks. Piston size same and are forged snd good for thrbo Cruze so would work mommy. I sent the video there are several online but the easiest cheapest way is or the manifold gasket for the 1.6 turbo Cruze gas not Diesel Holden or open the z something they call it and it started in 2012-13’but since you give up I’ll stop even tho you started and just like your 1.8 build u just gave up hell prolly never tried just waiting for someone to make a bolt on kit cheap if u even do that with ya automatic

Our Sonic is mainly driven by my wife as her daily driver as well as myself at times. Both her and I want and need to have something reliable, not hacked together and causing side affect issues. Kids need to be taken places in it also in rear car seats. . . . safely and dependably.
Maybe you don't think about what most other people need in a Sonic.
It is transportation.
Therefore, doing a Frankenstein turbo engine build for most without it being reliable isn't a good choice.
I have only commented and questioned about reliably of adding a turbo to the 1.8L engine.
Unlike you . .. . who has leveled name calling and personal attacks on me.

I also have a 3 month old daughter and I get that completely as it being a daily man. And if I ever came at you sideways it was souly because of the way you came at me and even others who have made videos and content for a lot of people they don’t even know just to help them. So maybe just like I said if ya don’t have nothin nice to say don’t. But it can and will be done man. But I hear ya on the daily thing it’s hard having it taken. Apart and back together no tune and shiz I do all my own work and it’s hard especially when gotta be to work counties away and all but it’s def possible man. Same for you and hey if I get this thing together and it holds long enough to be road worthy I’ll make sure send vids. I feel like with an exhaust manifold and the rest come from the turbo sonic about everything would fit yes oil line ran and such but it would all be made for the sonic so the main issue is the tune and keeping it low boost. Guarantee it’s good for 6-8lbs just enough for the sound and fun
