Lifted suspension Options

Hey everyone, I'm looking at upgrading the suspension on my 2012, my main objective is to add a few inches of ground clearance and improve the very soft stock suspension. I've seen essentially 2 options:

1. Use suspension from a chevy trax or a buick encore. This will allow ground clearance and a stiffer suspension, at a reasonable cost.
2. Use a custom kit from somewhere like Ceika, the linked kit is adjustable in rebound, damping, and height. However this kit costs almost double what a stock kit for a Chevy trax costs.

I would have a hard time justifying the cost of the custom option when a off the shelf solution is available. Has anyone run either of these options? Pros/cons? Regrets?

I am interested in your issue as well. I have a 2013 LTZ 1.4MT Sonic that has 105K miles on the clock. I don't have any suspension issues; yet. So when it comes time to replace the shocks and struts/springs, it would be interesting to know the pros and cons of using stock parts vs Chevy Trax parts.
