Interior upgrades questions: seats w/heat, cruise. 2017 Sonic sedan

Hey all.
New guy here, but not new to Sonic ownership or fixing stuff. The parents have a 2017 Sonic sedan (1.8/auto) that lacks cruise and heated seats but does have steering wheel audio controls and mytouch.

I want to retrofit better, heated seats and cruise. I am aware of the GM cruise kit, none of my local dealers will do the BCM update.

So I'm planning on buying a pair of RS front seats, a cruise equipped steering wheel and a HVAC control head that has the heated seat switches and having White Automotive reprogram my BCM and cluster to make everything work.

Two questions:

1) has anyone done this before successfully, and if so, what wiring has needed to be added or modified to connect the heated seats?

2) do hatchback seat brackets bolt up to a sedan? And if not, can the sedan seat brackets be transferred to hatchback seats?

The only way to get cruise is to buy the (really expensive) "kit" that comes with the special code needed to program the BCM. I had that done, also have a 1.8 LS.

Seat mounting should be the same between cars.
Not sure how the heated seats are triggered but I wouldnt doubt it is through the BCM as well. You could possibly run them right to a manual switch though, and bypass the whole stock system.

Thanks for the info, much appreciated. I picked up the front seats, steering wheel and HVAC controls out of a wrecked '17 Premier w/RS package yesterday, going to take a shot at putting in the seats tomorrow. White is backed up on BCM reflashing until April so I won't have an answer for all of it until then. We'll see...

Got a few hours to work on this today:

The RS front seats look like they will bolt up the existing floor mounts. But the driver seat is power and heated, and the gang connector from harness to seat is different - same shape, almost works, won't slide in far enough to lock and have pin contact due to some internal plastic stops that the base seat connector lacks.

Can't use the manual seat tracks on the power seat as the rear bolt holes don't line up. So either I need to pull the harness side wiring and seat connectors, or disassemble the seats and move the RS cushions and covers to the base seat frames and figure out how to separately control the seat heaters. (I don't care about the power seats).

I'll have to come back to this in 2-3 weeks after this trip is wrapped up.

I got my seats in today. the connector plugged right in.
To get the power seat to work, I had to depin one wire on the seat side and run power to that wire, due to the car side harness lacking that wire.
I have not tried putting the HVAC control with the heated seat button yet, so I can't say if that will work or not.
For context these are 2018 RS power/heat seats going into a 2014 LT that had no power or heat.
