I couldn't find much info on how to get the power seats to work in a car that didn't originally have them so i decided to make a post to help the next guy.
For context I put 2018 RS power/heated seats into a 2014 LT without power or heated options.
To start off the stuff that just works:
The seat bolts in no problem
The harness connector is the same and plugs in fine.
All the matching wires are present on the car side except one.
The problem: The power seat doesn't get power due to a wire missing on the car side.
The way I fixed this was to depin the red/white stripe wire (the one with the red arrow) on the seat harness.
For reference, the large black wire in the bottom left corner is the negative for the power seats.
I then slipped a spade connector oven the pin on the new wire and ran that wire to the fuse box using a fuse tap.
So far no airbag codes or anything. I haven't tried installing the AC controls that have the heated seat buttons but I will update my post when/if I do.
