Not to deprecate the fact that winning awards is awfully nice, but the purpose of building cars is to sell them, not to win awards. The Avalanche is credited with creating the market for 4-door trucks. Seems that no one wanted one until the Avalanche came out.

i do want one...but honestly have always been a fan of the extended cab more than the crew cab. My previous vehicle, an 05 sierra was just big enough and not having a pillar in the way to access the back underseat storage was nice.
