Different Sedan Tail Lights

How do you guys so easily go about painting your tail lights. Maybe that's you, but I just got my Sonic and I feel like a more professional way would be to my taste and a way that won't void the warranty. By the way will painted the lights void the warranty?

Exactly which part of the warranty are you suggesting it would void?

Just checked out your log. Pretty sick Sonic! Does that tint spray paint leave a rough after feel? What I mean is, after it dried do your tail lights still feel smooth or are they all spray paint rough. And has the paint started to peel or anything?

Hey Uhyana, I just wanted to say that I saw your thread about the dash compartments in the other area of the board that was very rudely replied to and locked. I thought, in particular, the question about the center slot was a good one, I had gone to that part of the board looking for that exact info. It is completely overlooked in the manual as you probably know. It's drawn in but not acknowledged in any way. I have no idea what that space is for and I was actually going to start a thread about it, but now after seeing how you were treated, not so much.

Anyway, don't feel bad. You aren't alone in your wondering but I guess our questions don't get answered.:sadbanana:

I don't really know. This is just my first car that is bran spanking new, and as much as I want to customize it I don't want to find out that if something happens later on I will no longer be cover for it because of something stupid I customized.

Although I find myself very good at driving, I have no how anything in a car works. All I do is drive automatic cars well. I never had someone teach me how to do oil changes and all the basics about maintaining cars.

Thanks for your support. It was very rude to lock me out like that. I searched the entire manual and there isn't a single thing that acknowledges those compartments. Searching on this forum isn't exactly easy either because we don't know what they are officially called. I've only had my sonic for a week and I did however look at the small colored booklet called Getting to Know Your Sonic. I found that the little center slot is just to hold credit cards and stuff. Makes sense but kind of a boring answer. There wasn't not any info on those 2 cubbies to the left and right of the air conditioning. They have got to have some value to the Sonic. It just looks like you can attach something to them. Oh well.

My 4 gig square ipod nano fits perfectly in that slot, but it's kind of silly to have it there when I can just hide it away in the upper glove box where the USB plug is.

I've seen pics of that slot being used for what Chevy intended it for: credit cards. I can't remember where I saw them, but I think those pics were in some kind of Sonic brochures. It's also a convenient place to put parking ramp/lot tickets that you get out of the machine when you enter a lot. Unless you take the ticket with you to have endorsed by a local business, that slot is a great place to put it while parked.

For some reason I didn't get that little manual, only the large main one. Thanks for the tip. I knew it fit credit cards but I couldn't see it being specifically designed for that.... weird. I may try and come up with something that will work for a cell phone.

link to the locked thread? (I'm too lazy to search for a locked thread) but yes that slot is designed to hold cards, any type of card credit, business, or what ever really. i kind of want to build a removable gauge cluster for it but im not sure how im going to make it happen yet.

I use it for holding ID's for border/gate crossing situations. There are also busines card holders on the mirror covers (visors).

I use it for holding my weapons arsenal.
My sub-dimensional card fits right in there.

Works like an "intelligent bag of holding", you get out exactly what you're thinking about.
Oh, and it's bigger on the inside than the out.

I saw somewhere on here a guy made a custom phone holder and used the "card slot" as the mounting point.

yeah i think its a garmin. i mount my Galaxy S3 in pretty much the same way and use the Torque app and an obd2 dongle to keep an eye on everything. its a pretty neat way to keep track of the vitals.

No I took them of and brought them to a shop and told them how I wanted them and that's what I got, they are better than expected
