Hello, I pick up my new Sonic tomorrow (3 DEC 11).

I'm pretty excited. I was just looking for some "basic" car. I'm rebuilding my life after divorce, short-sale, repos, etc. I didn't expect much, but after reading about this little car, I'm pretty damn excited. It seems I got pretty lucky that the "whatever-I-can-get" car is impressive.

Mine's the LT hatchback, with the 1.4 Turbo. I'll get some pix tomorrow when I get it.

I live in Maryland, btw.

You have GOT to go to Fox Chevrolet in Laurel and talk with Chris Parkerson. I'm serious, this other finance manager at Fox in Timonium called me and told me because I had a repo (my jaguar) and foreclosure (yeah, ugly divorce) that they could NOT help me. I called Chris and asked what was going on, and he said "don't listen to him, I got you covered". Yeah, he did! No, my rate isn't the best in the world, but I'm in a brand new car, the turbo LT model too, not just "whatever they had laying around". I had several other dealerships tell me "sorry, can't do anything for you". Chris is amazing, I don't know how he did it, but he didn't give up.

I was totally expecting to get some little junky car too, until I started reading up on the Sonic. I got excited, and was rightfully so. I brought it home today and had SO much fun driving it! It didn't feel "cheap" at all. It actually is roomier than my Jag was, and has all kinds of options (bluetooth connectivity package). I never really cared about all the fancy cars, big house, etc. A money hungry material woman will do that to you LOL. I'm so much happier now. I have a comfortable apartment, and now I have a surprisingly awesome car. Of course, I would've liked to have the LTZ, but I'm counting my blessings that I have something.

Well. FRACK!

I went to take some pictures and it's gone.

I forgot to go get a parking sticker at the apartments I live in.

So now I'm off to get it from the tow lot. Bastards better not have put a SINGLE scratch on it or I WILL have their asses. :mad:

Damn, had it a day and towed away. Sorry to hear about your misfortune. Hope the Sonic comes back in the same condition.

That's BS to tow a car without a warning after 1 day, especially a new car that you haven't had a chance to sticker yet.

Got it back.
$146 for the tow
$21.50 for the taxi to the tow yard
parking sticker on now: priceless

I don't really blame them. I knew the rules, they were made VERY clear to me when I moved in. The gentleman that rented the apartment to me stressed the parking situation. They don't play games, they see a car parked in a non-visitor spot without a sticker, they tow it. The parking isn't terrible, probably because of that. I can usually find a spot or two, even at bad times it's not very far from my apartment. If they didn't enforce the rules so strictly I would probably have a lot of trouble getting a spot. I've lived in a place like that. It really sucks when you have to park far away and have lots of stuff to carry (groceries, etc).

I thought about the sticker on my way back from the dealer, then promptly forgot about it. Other than a little bit of dust, it's in perfect condition.
