Thanks man! i got board one night and took a picture of my doors and threw that together. I might change it up and where its white do it black and where its black do it white. i say this as one other user on here mentioned, the only real downfall of doing this would be the white would get dirty real quick and would be a maintain constantly type thing. but if i were to switch the two colors and do the black more with white accents then it would be as bad then i dont think. i dont know. either way it would dress up the interior and not look so stock.
With any luck i can get this actually done in the future. First things first, custom exhaust upgrade, Paint the Rims, then get the windows tinted. Then DDMworks Intake when its released, Eventually get the tune, then i will get around to doing this to the doors. Within the next couple of years i will have me one very nice Sonic thats for sure when im done with it. :D

Maybe there should be a flush/offset thread but until then try this on for size.

My stock 17's are 6.5" wide with 42mm (41.5) offset. I added 19mm spacers. 42 + 19mm = 61 mm
And my wheels are flush.

Add an inch to width, take off 12.5mm of offset to get flush.
7.5" needs a 48.5mm offset for flush.
8" needs a 42mm offset for flush.
9" needs a 29mm offset for flush.
10" needs 21mm offset for flush, and won't likely clear the strut.

I realize my numbers don't jive with Thai so one of us is wrong. It may be me, but can someone explain the fault in my logic if I am.

An inch is 25.4mm, so I'd hazard to guess that's why you're numbers are off. add 1/2" of rim width, take away 12.7mm of offset. I think that's what you meant.

I chose to deviate plus or minus .2 to 1mm. I can math....... I just felt like simplifying.

What doesn't flow for me is that as his rim widths increase, so does the amount of extra offset.

If my wheels are flush with 61mm, it only seems reasonable that if I were to go wider, I would have to remove some offset to break even.

Also when I say I'm flush, I am not Zach Tullier flush. That is beyond flush, that is bad ass.

Every inch of wheel width you go up you want to take away 12.7mm of offset to put the outer wall back to where you started. Trust me.

I'm not sure if my postulate about 12mm is correct. What I am sure of though is that you are actually DECREASING the offset the closer you go towards the fenders.

So you are actually running 42 - 19 = 23 offset right now Preloader. :p

As for how I got 12mm, I was looking at this chart.

Now lets just start at 7" wide with 0 offset for example. At this width and offset, it has 4" of backspace. I would assume from here that it would have 3" of frontal space since 7" - 4" = 3".
Now lets move to an 8" wide wheel.
Here, in order to get the same 3" of frontal space, you need 5" of backspace since 8" - 3" = 5"
Now if we convert that 5" of backspace to offset, we get 12 offset.

When I played around with other numbers, I ended up with the same thing.

This also explains why Opticon, Zach, and FEARONE had very similar stances even though the latter two people had wider wheels and higher offsets.

So yeah, that's my reasoning on it...

I concede fault. My dimension of 60mm is the distance from mounting surface to the outer edge of wheel with the spacer included. Offset is the dimension from centerline of wheel to outer edge of wheel. So spacers don't have any effect on offset, the relation between centerline and mounting surface.

So yes, as wheels get wider, offsets need to get smaller. My brain hurts.
