We have been having this problem with our 2013 off and on - always have a spare key or keep the window open. Our 2017 is not possessed yet ..... still haven't been able to find any reliable resolution

I didn’t get a letter for my 2013 but started having problems due to failure of the PCV check valve in the intake manifold. I installed the V3.3 fix kit today (Cruzkits.com) and replaced the valve cover to fix the diaphragm as well. Everything good now and I don’t expect another failure :)

I am thinking about doing this fix - what went wrong?

I am following this because my daughters 2013 is having a similar issue and now the lock/unlock button inside and the key fob do not work :(
