Misgapped plugs won't always cause a miss. Checking your gaps in these cars is absolutely necessary if you want to make peak power. Especially with the tune. Most of us found our gaps were inconsistent from the factory. You want .028 on each.

The ABS fuse you want to pull is the uppermost one to the left. Literally the 1st fuse in the upper left corner.

The tune alone should afford you below the 15's. Do you have much track experience with your sonic? Have you read all the advice in this thread?

IMO, the 1.4T manual Sonic is not the easiest to launch. Getting your 60' down to 2.3 or better will improve you runs greatly.

Surprised to hear you say that as I feel the sonic is about as easy as they come. Stand on the accelerator while at the line, let the ecu hold the revs, quickly/smoothly let out the clutch, and off you go (WOT the whole time). No drama, difficulties, or challenges during my few passes. Only thing that wasn't consist was my IAT's.

Admittedly my 60' times weren't all that impressive, but it wasn't trouble with launching as much as no boost off the line/low power in general. No issues with the launch, I hooked right out of the gate and was WOT the whole time. Has trifecta found a way to convince the ecu to hold boost at the line yet?

Of course I wasn't packing the kind of power you were... perhaps at your power levels launching was trickier?

Time does look slow for your mods. Were you lifting throttle between shifts? No lift shifting isn't as important in an NA car, but for us turbo users it's absolutely critical to getting a good time. I'd also monitor your IAT's. I don't think your 60' looks all that bad considering your trap speeds, looks like you're hitting the launch/1-2 shift at least ok...

I think you literally may have just been a victim of heat soak. My IAT's started to go through the roof after just a few passes and slips got consistently slower. Letting the car cool a bit with the hood up after a couple of passes decreased my times noticeably. If you have an ultragauge you can see it right in the gauge, if not just plan on letting your car cool off for 10-15 minutes after a couple of passes.

I did let it cool, but I spent so much time in staging lanes between passes that they went up in no time. My average intake temp was like 120.

The context was for a person's first qtr mile experience.

However , I will say that hanging the revs for launch gave me inconsistent launches. Mostly resulting in heavy bogs that I didn't experience when I waited until the lights fell to rev and dump.

I'll be the first to confess I'm not the best drag driver though. I just share my experiences.

I need to replace a few things and try to get back to the track before they close. I really feel that under the correct conditions this car could squeak out a low 16 run.

I feel like this is kind of slow for the mods I have done.

Your ET is so high because your 60ft was awful. Ricer math says every tenth off your 60ft is worth two tenths at the big end so keep that in mind.

2.3 60fts are bad and easy to get. You mustve really been dogging it out of the hole.

Just need some practice. I wouldn't jump to thinking the car is off.

Ok so in the automatic its no different pulling the abs fuse than is it if I turn off tcs using the button? Just to be clear

Turning off the T/C with the button is not as effective as pulling the fuse. It only lessens the T/C engagement.

Ok because I noticed that granted, there is an obvious greater amount of wheelspin with it off but still gets sapped down pretty quick as soon as you start spinning good and proper, sort of like a tyrant mother like "ok go play"..., you bounce the ball once and she says "ok thats enough playing now do your homework!"

Being stock auto i didnt pull fuse. Maybe once i get tuned. Maybe ill need it?
