Yup. That's why they stuffed the K24 in for the '12+ model years... 170lbft, much lower in the range, more driveable in daily conditions. I'm hoping to see an Earth Dreams K series in future Si models. If it's priced reasonably like the current Si, I could see it replacing the Sonic when it kicks the bucket.
Nice win against the Si! I'm sure it felt good to show them the rear bow tie. Folks in their Si seem to think their cars are the shizznet a lot of the time Congrats on putting the smack down!
That is an 8th gen. Fg2 nice cars. I bought one fully loaded for a fun commuter car. Never owned a Honda before and wanted to see what the Si was all about. It was fun to drive and the high revving engine was a blast. I got rid of it 2yrs later AND made a 3k profit
. I needed better fuel economy. Be careful though, with a tune (honData) headers/exhaust they are in the high 13's and cheap to do.
What's all this crap about low torque numbers....you hauling something? One of my cars has a "whimpy" 155tq at the crank.....it would put a hurting on any tuned Sonic.
