Looks like you already decided. I was going to give you a long winded explanation on why you should get the 1.4 Turbo but now you saved me the trouble. I can guarantee you will not regret selecting the 1.4.

thanks, and im pretty set on the 1.4 probably going to have to order one through the dealership but i have a close family friend there taking care of a lot for me. i drive almost all highway miles commuting everyday and i think after one more test drive ill make up my mind with manual vs. auto because i really don't think ill be able to pass up a 6spd manual after driving it one more time

Speaking as a driver of a manual transmission vehicle for the past 9 years, I do not regret getting the automatic in my '13 Sonic 1.4T LTZ. The transmission provides crisp downshifts that you can feel just like a manual. The manual mode gives you a lot of control over the powertrain, too.

It would only take me once getting stuck in traffic and creeping forward trying not to slip the clutch to make the automatic worth it to me.

The turbo is only a $700 option over the 1.8L. Best $700 investment I've made in a long time.

I agree completely, i have driven a few cars with the "manual mode" and absolutely hated it, IMO it is nothing like driving a manual car.

manual is the way to go! :banana:

More work with the third pedal, auto with manual mode means you can make it go faster with less effort.

The first truck I had was a 6 speed. It was nice but you had to keep your rpms up to keep the turbo spooled. My last one was a auto and I absolutely loved it. You never had to spool it, just got in and go. Now my sonic is a 5 speed and I love it and I hardly even notice it anymore

Might have something to do with not having a turbo to spool.

That is where I found my vehicle after I was about to get an automatic when I couldnt find the 1.4T Manual I wanted.

I found one about an hour and fifteen minutes away and they actually had 2 of the exact same car.

getting rid of your jeep for a sonic? no offense to anyone here but i could never imagine that.

i got a 1.4 just for fuel mileage reasons. it's only a little bit more and worth it in the fuel you will save. i got a manual for the same reason. this was the easiest decision. better economy and it's cheaper.

My jeep is 20 years old with 200 thousand miles on it I'm pretty sure it's time for an upgrade haha. I'm keeping my zj for winter fun, lifted and 2wd/4wd is a blast.

Less than 15 mpg highway when I commute everyday isn't a good time for me or my wallet. But I'll never get rid of her hahha
