Hey all,
My 1.4L blew a hose and overheated which was followed by a blown head gasket( so I thought). I took the head off and used a .002 feeler gauge with a straight edged around the base of the head. It didn’t pass the test between cylinders 2 and 3. The head needs to be milled and I know GM says there’s zero tolerance but realistically how much can I mill off the head till I run into issues with the valves contacting the pistons?
I run a zzp v3 turbo with 18-20psi boost. Has anyone used a .02 head shim? If so how did you install it (straight in block then head gasket on top?) and does it work? I don’t want to install one if it won’t withstand my engine.
