If you're experiencing problems opening QuickBooks, follow these troubleshooting steps:
- Run QuickBooks Tool Hub:
- Download and install QuickBooks Tool Hub from Intuit’s website.
- Open it and run the Quick Fix My Program tool to resolve common program issues.
- Suppress QuickBooks While Opening:
- Press and hold the Ctrl key while double-clicking the QuickBooks icon.
- Keep holding Ctrl until QuickBooks opens without a company file. If it works, the issue may be with your company file.
- Rename the QBWUSER.INI File:
- Navigate to C:\Users[Your Username]\AppData\Local\Intuit\QuickBooks [Year]
- Locate QBWUSER.INI, right-click, and select Rename (add .old at the end).
- Try reopening QuickBooks.
- Run QuickBooks Install Diagnostic Tool:
- In QuickBooks Tool Hub, select Installation Issues and run the QuickBooks Install Diagnostic Tool to fix missing or damaged files.
- Check for Windows and QuickBooks Updates:
- Ensure your Windows and QuickBooks are updated to the latest versions to prevent compatibility issues.
