QuickBooks Error 15102 typically occurs when updating payroll or QuickBooks, often due to incorrect download location settings, lack of admin privileges, or internet connectivity issues. Follow these steps to resolve it:
- Verify the Download Location:
- Open QuickBooks and press Ctrl + 1 to access the Product Information window.
- Check if the Download Location is correct. If using multi-user mode, switch to single-user mode under File > Switch to Single-User Mode.
- Run QuickBooks as Administrator:
- Close QuickBooks and right-click on its icon.
- Select Run as Administrator to give the necessary permissions.
- Revalidate the Payroll Subscription:
- Open QuickBooks and go to Help > Update QuickBooks.
- Click on Options and ensure the correct location is selected.
- Click Save, then Update Now and restart QuickBooks.
- Check Internet and Firewall Settings:
- Ensure a stable internet connection.
- Add QuickBooks to the Windows Firewall Exceptions list.
