1.8l Intake Vacuum leak

Installed a new intake tuning Intake Manifold Runner Control Motor and vapor canister purge valve on my G/F's 2016 Sonic 1.8l LT.
Noticed a pretty bad vacuum leak near the throttle body, on the edge of the intake manifold. Looks like something is supposed to be inserted in this port. While engine is running, the vacuum is strong enough to suck the skin on your fingertip. Battery was disconnected while servicing and there is still a CEL on after I installed both parts, but haven't had a chance to get it read yet. Any help is appreciated.

Check your work and for broken plastic tubes or hoses near that throttle body.
Those plastic parts get brittle with age and can break easily just by bumping them while doing other work under the hood.

There should be no openings with vacuum near the throttle body. If there is, temporarily plug it with something and see if a code pops up and signals what is then not working correctly.

Thanks. Im aware that there shouldn't be any open ports. If you have the 1.8l, could. you snap a pic of of this area for me? Id greatly appreciate it. Ive looked for a vacuum schematic and my search results haven't came up with anything.

I can snap a picture or two. But the second picture is pretty blurry and maybe one just a tad bit further away from that location so I can see where I need to take the picture.

the screen shot I posted from parts geek should give you an idea of where its at. the car is at her house and im 45 minutes away
So the CELs associated with the intake tuning valve is gone.
But
I covered the hole with duct tape and took it to Autozone. Apparently they don't print out the CELs anymore. And the report was supposed to be emailed to me. He said it was pointing to an intake leak of some sort. The email never made it to me...
So I may be in need of an intake.

Before replacing more parts . . maybe check to make sure the parts got seated correctly and no missing or torn gaskets.

They can look ok . . but I would remove the Intake Manifold Runner Control Motor and vapor canister purge valve and see if things are ok.

On one Sonic I worked on, the vacuum line from the driver side of the intake manifold to the vacuum brake booster on the firewall had a vacuum leak. Some previous service "tech" broke the plastic nipple on the side of the intake manifold and then just goopped some kind of putty onto the connector and pushed it back on.

Later,, that putty came loose and I only found it by gently wiggling vacuum connector and lines.

there is a strong vacuum at the place I circled. I will double check the brake booster lines.
