Tune was omitted because it goes without saying.
Stock injectors should hold fine for initial application.
Intercooler kits can be had with improvisational piping parts.
I agree about the BAR sensor.
The point I was making about the first pioneer was to get through the obstacle of forced induction first. And the rest will move quickly.
I tend to utilize my one track mind for big projects. If I start to cloud my direction early with the details that can't be resolved til the first phase is accomplished, I end up getting in my own way.
Surely this is not the best approach, but I am promoting it for my own selfish spectating reasons.

No. It's not even close. Google 'chevy sonic 1.8 exhaust gasket' to see what your exhaust ports, studs, shape of exhaust openings look like. Just because two engines have the same displacement doesn't mean things will swap between them.
Maybe you were kidding, I don't know, but a VAG part fitting the 1.8?

i was thinkng about welding off the gaskets of that on and weld on a fabricated gasket to fit it to make it work..

Maybe cutting off the head flange of yours and welding it to the replacement would work. But you could just as easily get a fab shop to cut you a blank and weld that to a turbo flanged manifold.
Also figuring out your oil feed supply might be tricky.
On the 1.4 it comes off the oil filter housing block. I have an extra that we can reference to see if it'll bolt on to the 1.8. It's not unlikely considering its the same filter cartridge. There is a good chance the housing block is the same.

I gotcha, cut the flange off that bolts to the head and weld one on that will fit the Sonic 1.8 head. That may be a good solution as long as the exhaust port spacing is really close between the two, if not then having a header with turbo flange custom made is the way to go!

Yea. I had a shop quote me 1200 and up fir a fabricated turbo header but i think thats a lil pricey :/

You have a 5 speed right?
Here is my whole concern about it: the 5 speed is not as strong as the 6. I fear that if the 1.8 holds up to the turbo that the next big thing is the transmission. Now I am planing a m32 swap anyways ( haven't decide on the 1.8 or the 1.4 gearing). But all that power means nothing if you can't plant it to the ground

All that power? Not to sound like chief dark cloud, but if you apply 8-10psi to an otherwise stock 1.8, you can expect a solid 200whp. It'll definitely run with the 1.4T boys and may even have a more usable power range, which is exciting....
But I doubt the stock 5-spd will implode. Remember, the trans' nemesis is torque. Even though a boosted 1.8 may even see higher RPM peak hp than the average tuned 1.4T, it likely won't see trans threatening mid 200wtq like the 1.4s get at 22psi.
@Devil, I think $4000 is a reasonable cost for such platform shocking trendsetting. My turbo upgrade will put me in the ballpark of $3k and that requires much less customization than you're up against. I'm excited in anticipation, if you go for it.
