I am considering building my next project using a 2014 sonic 1.4T as the "Donor car".
I have poked around on this site and think there are quite a few people here with knowledge which I'm hoping they'll share with me.
I'm going to need info on the following to get started designing and creating the plan and figuring out if it will work

Stand alone 1.4 turbo
RWD Transmission which will mate to 1.4

If I decide to take this route with my project I will have body parts to liquidate if anyone is interested.

Check into off road buggies running ecotec motors. I know many of them are running vw bus transmissions but there could be some front engine/rear drive set ups. Those off road dudes build crazy stuff

You have me intrigued. Check these guys out http://quad4rods.com/ they offer an LSJ housing and might be able to guide you on what fits the LUJ

They also have side draft manifolds to run carburetor, which could solve your computer dilemma

Thanks carsnskis. I appreciate the link for quad 4. FYI in reading some things there is a bell housing from a Isuzu Amigo which runs a EcoTec C22XE with the same bolt pattern as the 1.4.
I was debating running an aftermarket ECU in an attempt to reduce tuning headaches. After thinking about the desired end result I will most likely keep the OE. I'd like to integrate some of the Sonics "creature comforts" i.e. Touchscreen, Bluetooth, etc.
also looking into converting to e85

I am one of those "off-road guys" (amongst other things)
One of the the goofier builds. This is kinda just "slapped" together. Kind of "all go no show" type of thing
