Hi everyone,
I'm in Austin Texas... First off- I don't have money right now so it's tough to manage this- I have a 2013 that had an IID installed in it , which was installed in a way that did things to confuse the transmission to the point the engine overheat was reported to the computer system, and when I finally found someone at the company to put it in right, it fixed some of these fake errors, but then it turned out it had some real overheating issues (so many false positives made me cynical) Eventually it croaked and I had it towed near our condo. I am going to have a mobile mechanic come out and tell me if it is something I can get fixed for a reasonable price or just sell the whole thing for whatever "or best offer" can get me. I frequently came to this forum to get advice and I know some people are REALLY into this car so I thought I would ask some advice about how to proceed. I don't know yet if I can fix it, but I thought due diligence would be to ask about what I should do if I want to sell it.
Please don't reply with sarcasm. This isn't a nice time. It is my only car and this car and I have been through ALOT. It only had about 60k miles on it. If I can't fix it I need the money since the advanced IT industry is horrible right now and I can't find work
If there is someone that is into a whole Sonic who wants parts it is more ethical to me to give it to someone who is into Sonics than send it to some random place to get chopped for nothing.
