1st American made car

After owning Japanese made cars for decades, we made the brave decision to buy our first American made car, a Chevy Sonic. A recent accident totaled our 10 year old Scion XB. What a great car that was. A very practical car that got great mileage and had very little problems. I primarily bought the Sonic for its gas mileage (an LT hatchback with the turbo) but also for its affordability. We liked the design of the Sonic also. We're hoping that the Sonic turns out to be as practical and economical as our previous Japanese made autos.

I also bought the Sonic for fuel economy and practicality. It's my 2nd new GM and I've not regretted either decision...... Just wish my 07 sierra was a manual and had an up to date engine.

Glad to see you here! There are some people with issues but I think you'll find that most are really happy with their Sonic's, myself included!

I once had a 2005 Xb, it was a reliable little beast. I did have an issue with the flatish windscreen always getting chipped by rocks and even once in a hail storm (that caused almost 3k in damage). The Xb was an exercise in Japanese minimization,(less is more). Where I find the Sonic to be the exact opposite.
