1st warranty issue...

As stupid an issue as it could be. My horn doesn't work :confused:

I noticed in the first few days of owning the car if you hit the lock button on the key twice it would honk. Then it no longer did that, I thought maybe a setting got changed. Until I went to use the horn and it didn't work! Strange, but glad the car has a warranty.

The same thing seems to have just happened to me as well. :/

Horn stopped sounding after the double press on the keys. My horn is still fine though as I was still able to honk it... Any ideas?

Edit: NEVERMIND!!! Had a total derp moment, and didn't realize that my friend didn't close the door completely. *facepalm* lol
Everything's fine now. :)

Well I have my first Warranty issue to day My wind shield has a stain on the drivers side . It is a strip about 1 inch wide by 1 foot long . you can only see it when the window is fogged up . Now the weather is cold I am see it when I drive home at night and the bridge lights and car lights reflect off of it . They sead it will be about a week or two for the glass to come in and that Safelight will be installing it for the dealership . Because I have over 10,000 mile on my Sonic they had to file something for approval of the warranty work to be done . If they sead no I don't know what I would have done ? I took 3 days to get the approval .

Hey BoG, don't get too excited man. Still waiting on my windshield almost 2 weeks later, and no sign of it in the system. According to the dealership they ordered from, Chevy hasn't made any spares yet.

I am going to hope it comes this month... :(

Got bored, and went to my favorite used car part site, to see if any Sonic's have been retired yet. I have found traces of 3 cars, two sisters in Virginia and a cousin in Iowa.

There is a sedan in VA with a windshield available.

Doing some poking around, it seems the there are two 1.8AT silver sedans at the one yard in VA, one with 23 miles, and one with 28. Reports of bent door frames and misc holes. Not much info on the one in IA though. A set of 15" wheels could be had for $500, lol.

Sad, already 3 Sonic's in the junkyards.

Ya I read your post I'm not sweating it to much I just need to run the car a little longer to warm it up first . Your stuff is a lot worse I hope they take care of you first .

I've been seeing bits and pieces of the one in Virginia show up on Ebay. A taillight here, some body trim there, and the wheels and tires.

Unfortunately, they wanted more than I was willing to pay, although the taillight was reasonably priced. :D

Ok I got my new windshield to day . I got a loner car for the day 2010 chevy impala . It took then 4 hours total time and it looks like new woot woot

They make glass polish too.. If the windshield can't be replaced under warranty that always an option.. Although I see you got yours..

Took the car in Thursday night for the horn to get fixed and to get an oil change. It was done Friday morning. The horn wire wasn't plugged in all the way to horn I guess.

But, they didn't reset the oil life monitor - which I did myself after finding out how in the owners manual - no big deal at all though that should be standard operating procedure for any GM dealer.

BUT - on the drive home, the check engine light came on. Ugghhhhh I have to wait until Monday now to take it back. wtf? Gas cap is tight and has been tight so I know it isn't that.

I have had mine since Sept. 28 ,2011 Drove to Florida 2 weeks after I bought her and have gone to North Carolina 2 , Virginia 2 . I also have a Commute of 54 miles a day .Plus when I'm sleeping during the day time my wife is tooling around in her . It is now Feb. 19 ,2012 and I have 10489 miles I slowed down a little and started driving my old Geo to slow down on the miles .

What can I say I love this car more than mall most all the other cars I have ever owned and I plan on running the living crap out of her .The wife and I are planning on getting another one in the middle of next year or when the Geo blows up which ever comes first . :banana:
