To preface, my Sonic is at around 111,000 miles and we recently did a tune-up including fluid changes.
My check engine light has been on for a while and I've had the codes read. It was reading that the engine was flooding, but it still ran okay at the time (a few months ago).
The check engine light is still on and if I don't rev it upon ignition and get it to hold at 3k rpm, it jumps as I'm driving and stalls out after being stopped for a minute. When I am revving it to ensure it won't jump, the rpm goes up and down from 1500 to 4500 depending on how cool the engine is and eventually it holds at 3k rpm. After fueling the car, I have to press the gas to force it to start and it's more difficult to get the rpm stable. It usually shuts off after one try (after fueling up) so I have to do it multiple times so that I don't stall on the road. I've tried doing research and it leads me to about five different things it could be. I'm in desperate need of help with diagnosing the issue because I don't have the extra money to go to a mechanic at the moment.
In addition to these problems, my hatchback will not open. It's not the worst thing to happen, but it is very inconvenient. I think it may have something to do with the wiring. The button above the license plate is not opening it and the key fob function has never worked. Has anyone else had to fix the hatchback door? If so, how?
I appreciate any words of advice and any solutions. Thank you in advance.
