2013 Sonic 1.4T odometer not working showing "---"

Hello everyone.

I just purchased a 2013 sonic 1.4T and its a very zippy car. love it sofar, however my Odometer shows --- instead of miles. I have googled this problem extensively and have been told its from bad fuses to bad cluster. It appears that the battery was recently changed on this vehicle as it looks brand new. All of my fuses are good, both under the hood and the kick panel inside. Pulling the battery ground and letting the computer refresh made no change.

Has anyone else had this problem and gotten it resolved? how did you fix it? what is the cause?

Forgive me if this is common question. I searched this issue out on this forum first and only found one result from a while ago with no real answer to the source or fix of the problem.

No luck. Im about to take it to the dealer. I think its a programing error. working on other projects at the moment. Once I get a result and answer to the problem ill replay back here.
