2013 Sonic Stock Head Unit

I'm wanting to hook up my amp and subs to my 2013 Chevy Sonic LS. But I'm not wanting to pull out my head unit and replace it. So before I pull it out in general, I'm curious if it has RCA output channels on the back. I'm positive it doesn't, but I figured it'd be easier to ask instead of pulling apart my car to find out.
And if it doesn't, what kind of converter would I need? I've been told any basic Line Output Converter would work. And I already found the one I need. But is there something BETTER than that? And what all would I need to completely hook up the converter?

I already have the wiring to hook up my amp to my car if I were to use an aftermarket HU by the way.


The amp is a JL 500/1 and the subs are 2-10" JL W3 if it matters at all.

Yes you need a line out converter. This guide helped me tremendously.

So is there any other wires I'd need to hook up the converter? Or should every converter come with any wires I'd need?

The LOC provides the RCA output from the head unit for the amp. You will still need quality RCA cables, proper size power and ground, and remote turn on wire.

I used a Sony xdp-mu110. It's about $50.00 shipped on Crutchfield. It works great as you don't need a LOC or remote turn on wire. It also has a pass thru for another amp. Really helps the sound from the factory head unit.

I've read this on sof before. I was trying to find the post but if you change one thing all is void.

No. Just the warranty on parts affected.

I think messing with the radio affects more than just the radio warranty due to how tied into the BCM that it is. Another reason (and why I was warned not to mess with the factory stereo) is the interface with OnStar. It would still come down to proving that the mod/change you've made was a cause of the problem.

A radio is a radio. It might interface with the BCM, but so what. If someone replaces the headunit, none of the other components have been removed...

Everything else would still be complete. There is no way ... Magnusson Moss...

I think that would require a serious mis-modification of whatever cables and or adapter harnesses you would need to utilize to connect any peripherals or replace my headunits.

The bottom line? They sell this car without the Mylink. It doesn't need it.

Yo i gotta 14 rs and what wire do i gotta splice the remote wire to bring the touch screen the Jimmy Vasquez link or whatever doesn't lead on my phone
